In his first season, Coach Brooke helped bring the BYU offense into national prominence. The Cougars offense finished eighth in the country, scoring 6.7 runs scored per game, 11th on base percentage (.409) and 17th in batting average (.319).  In BYU’s first year of Big 12 play, the team finished fourth in most offensive categories.

Some highlights of the 2024 season included scoring 18 runs over two victories over a Top 5 Oklahoma State team and handing No. 2/1 Oklahoma its first home Big 12 loss since 2017, scoring nine runs (the most allowed by OU since 2020).

Prior to his arrival in Provo, Brooke spent two seasons with Auburn softball as its hitting coordinator/coach. From 2021 to 2022, the Tigers almost quadrupled their home run total, going from 22 to 86 long bombs on the year.

Auburn also raised its slugging percentage by over 200 points, posting a .557 percentage compared to .338 the year before. He coached SEC freshman of the year Bri Ellis, who tallied 20 home runs during her freshman campaign.
